No Maps For These Territories

On an overcast morning in September 2000, William Gibson walked out of LAX Terminal 2, stepped into a waiting limousine and embarked on a journey. It lasted many days, taking the author across America. ¶

William Gibson is travelling through America in a limousine that is rigged with micro-cameras, television, a computer and other multimedia equipment. The intention of the film is to record Gibson's impressions while travelling, and also his conversation with the driver and a few temporary passengers, such as Jack Womack and Bono from U2. ¶

The film had its premiere at the Slamdance Film Festival 2001 which was held from January 20-27, 2001 in Park City, Utah (provided by Herbert Alvarado). It was also screened in Los Angeles by the Alternative Screen on March 22, 2001. There is an official website called nomaps.com (provided by Bret Berg). You can also buy the film on VHS/DVD at the Robot Store. ¶
