Gibson's latest novel takes place in the present day and features a plot that involves iPod data couriers, 3D GPS artists and the hunt for a mysterious freight that might include weapons of mass destruction. ¶ Hollis Henry, former member of cult band Curfew is now a freelance journalist. Her latest assignment is from an upcoming magazine called Node. It turns out that Node is an enterprise run by Blue Ant, the company that was also involved in the events of 'Pattern Recognition'. Hollis' job is to find out more about a mysterious shipping container, the whereabouts of which seem to be part of a complicated ruse by a Cuban-Chinese clan. ¶ Gibson's prose is sharp as ever and it's fascinating to see that in a
time of email forwarding and blog exposure he still manages to evoke a
vibrant, thrilling world full of freaky stuff - our present world. ¶ |
