Neuromancer (1984), William Gibson's debut novel, is perhaps the most famous cyberpunk novel of all the time. It has won the Hugo award, the Philip K. Dick Memorial Award, and the Nebula award and is regarded as one of the breakthrough novels of the eighties. In Neuromancer, Gibson presented the idea of a global information network called the Matrix, and the term cyberspace, a virtual reality simulation with a direct neural feedback. ¶ |
